Hello Everyone,
Had a really nice Christmas Party last night.
We had 24 party goers and everyone had a great time. We want
to thank William & Judy for arranging the party at the Elks
Club and especially a really big THANK YOU to both for
donating the $100.00 deposit to the Palmetto Corvette Club.
Judy also did a super good job of making roses, chocolate of
course, for everyone. Thanks to Gaynell & Judy for greenery
to help decorate the tables, as well as Lois for bringing
poinsettias that after the party every couple or single took
home. We all had salad, roast beef, baked potato, green
beans, rolls and butter, and the club Eddie had a sheet cake
made for our first Christmas Event, with the club emblem. It
was really delicious. Christmas music filled the air during
dinner and a lot of happy chatter, with everyone getting to
know each other a little better.
The gift exchange was a lot like give and take, but lots of
fun, corvette folding chairs, corvette beach towels and
throws were the hit of the evening, seems everyone wants a
corvette chair. The toys we all brought will be donated to
United Ministries, an organization that can give the toys to
the truly needy. We will deliver them next Saturday morning
to the Ministry. We will meet at 9:30 am at the Bank of
America parking lot on Liberty & Hwy. 15 to caravan to the
United Ministries building. Perhaps, we hear, the press may
be present. But it looks like some fun toys will be in the
hands of lots of kids for Christmas.
After our party we gathered in the parking lot to take a
drive through Swan Lake Iris Gardens to view the Christmas
Lights. It was very chilly but a beautiful sight and great
way to end a fun evening.
See you all next Saturday at Drew's Blues Cafe at 4:30 PM .
Till then, Lois
